One of the most common questions goes something like; "what software do you use ? ".. I often answer whatever I have access to and hope that it might be just as interesting to ask "what ideas or approaches do you use?" BUT in the end whether you might need a hammer or a screwdriver regardless of brand name is relevant, even inspiring and helpful for generating idea, experimenting and creating specific works ! Our inaugural meeting and screening featured; Peter Miller as a special guest presenter talking about his work with the musicality and narrative interests in Spoken Word, Found Footage, Public Domain Archives and Machine Learning Based Image and Video Experiments. Scribbletronics is the creative entity of Australian sound designer, musician, filmmaker and artist Peter Miller. Peter is a graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and has been professionally practicing his craft for over 40 years. During that time he has been the co-director of a film production company, the director of a music production company, and has initiated many original sound, music and visual projects. For this presentation Peter showed and discussed two recent works; "Phantom Footsteps" (2024) created entirely from masses of text prompts and editing of a.i. still image and moving image processes using Luma.ai , Runway and MidJourney.
